We design and manufacture innovative, sustainable packaging components for cold-chain shipping of food and pharmaceutical products. Job Description:

We are seeking a Manager of Software Engineering to lead the development, enhancement, and support of our core internal applications, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Salesforce (SFDC), and SAP Business One. This individual will play a critical role in aligning business needs with technical solutions, managing engineering delivery, and driving application modernization. This is a hands-on role responsible for team development, solution architecture, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure our internal platforms evolve with the business.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead a team of contractor software engineers, analysts, and technical specialists focused on internal business systems and applications
  • Collaborate with functional business leaders to understand operational needs and translate them into scalable technical solutions
  • Oversee the development, customization, integration, and ongoing support of platforms such as Business Central, Salesforce, and SAP Business One
  • Manage delivery across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met
  • Define and enforce software development best practices, coding standards, and architectural principles
  • Champion the modernization of legacy systems, identifying opportunities to improve scalability, usability, and system performance
  • Partner with IT, Infrastructure, and Security teams to ensure alignment on architecture, data integrity, and compliance
  • Support system upgrades, patching, and release management processes
  • Evaluate and recommend third-party tools, plugins, or services that can accelerate delivery or improve system capabilities
  • Lead vendor relationships where applicable, including SOW management and performance evaluation
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, including retrospectives, team learning, and process enhancements

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, application development, or enterprise systems
  • 1+ years in a role managing cross-functional or technical teams
  • Proven experience working with one or more of the following platforms: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Salesforce, SAP Business One
  • Strong understanding of systems integration, APIs, and middleware solutions
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and modern SDLC practices
  • Experience managing external vendors or contractors
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into scalable, maintainable software solutions
  • Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments is a plus (e.g., SOX, HIPAA)
  • Experience with low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Power Platform)
  • Knowledge of SQL, Azure services, and integration platforms such as MuleSoft
  • Familiarity with data governance and master data management practices

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift up to 15 pounds unassisted
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
