TemperPack is a rapidly growing company based in Richmond, Virginia with manufacturing plants in Holt, Michigan and Las Vegas, Nevada. We design and manufacture innovative, sustainable packaging components for cold-chain shipping of food and pharmaceutical products. The markets we serve have an urgent need for disruptive, sustainable alternatives to replace the wide array of non-sustainable packaging materials conventionally used in the cold-chain, such as Styrofoam coolers. Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quality Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will leverage engineering principles, industry-standard tools, and methodologies to systematically monitor processes, investigate incidents, and identify opportunities for improvement. This role is critical for enhancing our production capabilities and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products.
Qualifications
Essential Job Functions:
- Apply engineering principles and quality methodologies to evaluate and monitor manufacturing processes.
- Conduct thorough investigations into incidents, identifying root causes and potential solutions, reporting results in standard formats including 8D.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
- Utilize QMS and other specialized software to effectively manage controlled documents, nonconformities, Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA), customer complaints, and supplier quality.
- Utilize data-driven analysis to pinpoint opportunities for optimization and efficiency enhancements.
- Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Champion quality standards and practices across the organization to ensure compliance and excellence in product delivery.
- Other duties as required by the business.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proven technical expertise in quality engineering and manufacturing processes
- Strong analytical skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
- A commitment to fostering a culture of quality and excellence within the organization.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with ISO 9001:2015 preferred
- Competency in Six Sigma and Lean principles and methodologies preferred
Qualifications:
- Experience in manufacturing necessary
- 2-3 Years experience in Quality Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Process Engineering or similar role preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering or other STEM discipline preferred
- Willingness to travel 5-10% of the time necessary
Physical Requirements:
- Be on your feet for 8-12 hours
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted
- Able to reach, bend, kneel and climb while performing repetitive tasks
- Ability to work in hot and cold environments
- Able to correctly wear PPE for entire shifts
- Able to react and respond quickly to noises, smells, visual hazards, and alerts
