Job Description:

As Sales Operations Specialist at TemperPack, you will play a pivotal role in the success of the sales organization. The goal of sales operations is to identify and resolve friction in the sales process. Working closely with the Senior VP Sales and Account Management, you will be responsible for supporting the sales team and ensuring they have the tools and processes needed to succeed. You will troubleshoot process issues, maintain data integrity, and provide training to ensure that sales operations run smoothly. This role also involves collaborating across departments, including sales, operations, supply chain, customer success, and engineering to improve sales enablement, and provide value for our customers. The ideal candidate excels in project management, data analysis, and reporting, with a passion for driving change.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Continuous sales operations process improvement through better use of CRM, LIMS, SRS and other tools to drive efficiency, improve hit rate and reduce sales cycle time.
  • Effectively implement processes and procedures and drive a culture of systems discipline within the commercial team by monitoring process adoption and compliance.
  • Collaborate with sales, customer success, legal, finance and engineering to lead various critical sales processes including contract development, negotiation of contract renewals, collaboration on pricing strategy, aggregating RFP responses, scoping testing and trial process.
  • Analyze sales data from various inputs (CRM, ERP, QBR, NPS, to identify customer and market-led improvement opportunities with a solutions-oriented, continuous improvement mindset.
  • Manage customer contracts and develop guidelines for renewal terms ensuring market competitiveness and maximum profitability.
  • Engage in account initiatives to protect profitability, identifying targeted growth within assigned account base, and protecting against churn.
  • Partner with marketing and sales team to build sales presentations and other tools to enable commercial excellence.
  • Participate in customer visits and strategic meetings with assigned account customer base and sales team, with moderate customer engagement and responsibility.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred, or similar professional experience.
  • 2-5 years of demonstrated experience in pre-sales activity in packaging industry or related field.
  • Proficient in data analysis to interpret sales data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Motivated, creative, problem-solver that demonstrates critical thinking and resourcefulness.
  • Superuser of Excel, ERP, CRM (preferably Salesforce)
  • Consistency in words and actions that demonstrate the core values of teamwork and integrity.
  • 25% travel to company and customer locations as needed.
  • Experience with sustainable packaging solutions preferred.
  • Customer Service and/or Sales background preferred.
  • Project Management skills coupled with understanding of technical aspects of the business preferred
  • Ability to present and influence across a wide range of audiences internally and externally.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift up to 15 pounds unassisted
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
